Before the loans, we’re very poor, making ends meet. We didn’t have access to any proper bathroom. We didn’t afford enough school materials for the kids and lacked of a transport for commuting. Then, my household decided to stop the youngest kid’s schooling at grade 11; so she could help earn a household income. She’s employed at a garment factory. She didn’t have a transport but got a lift from a neighbor. At the time, my husband and I thought of a business, since my husband’s job was seasonal. We thought of doing dry-season rice farming two to three times per year to generate more household income. However, we didn’t have enough capital to do that. We wanted to approach the village moneylenders, but their interest rate was quite high. If we approached MFIs, we didn’t know which one was appropriate for us.It’s a coincidence that a financial institution came to do their loan promotion event in the village! We needed the loan, so I attended the loan promotion event of Daikou Finance. I felt interested and decided to get their loan as a start-up capital to do dry-season rice farming, build a new home and a proper bathroom for the household members. My first cycle loan was US$1,000; and second cycle loan was currently US$10,000 from Daikou Finance. From time to time, my loan size was increased to enable us to have enough capital for the business and refurbishing our home and facilities as well. Nowadays, my household can manage to get a brand new motorcycle for commuting, have a regular income for daily expense, and be able to pay back the loan.
Ms. Sopheap exclaimed, “I’m truly happy for what we’ve achieved today and understand about how to use the loan from Daikou Finance. Daikou helps a lot in creating and expanding our business as well as in mproving our living conditions. May Daikou Finance get more clients and their staff be in good health! Thank you”. She added, “In the future, I wish the dry-season rice farming business would be more lucrative to better improve our living standards to be stable, of high income and happiness for good”.
