Ms. Mao Srey Mom

I am Mao Srey Mom aged 41 years, a garment factory worker. My husband is Long Sarem aged 43 years, a garment factory worker too. We have 3 dependent children, and live in Spok Prey village, Trapeang Sab commune, Bati district, Takeo province. We’re confident and proud of what we’ve accomplished so far in the family! It’s the only goal of our family achieved through efforts physical and mental challenges and especially the loan from Daikou Finance.

Before the loan from Daikou Finance, my family was very poor and suffered a lot since we’d migrated from Sa’ang district of Kandal province to resettle in the current village of Takeo province in early 2017. We first stayed with an aunt empty-handed in poverty and suffered a lot. Even the villagers were not willing to welcome and get to know us, since we’re jobless and desperate. Our children could not attend school. We could not even afford to get a bicycle for travel to look for a job. After that, my husband and I could manage to get a job at a garment factory that is rather distant from home, and we could get a pay-for-a car ride every month. However, the expenses were high and so we thought of owning a motorbike for me and my husband to go to work at the garment factory. In late 2017, we approached a private moneylender for a loan; however, the interest rate was quite high and we could not afford it. We applied for a loan from a couple of microfinance institutions, but we’re rejected due to the fact that we’re quite new in the village. Then, I heard from the staff of the promotion of financial products and services from Daikou Finance, I gave it a try to apply for a loan at the amount of US$3,000 to buy a motorbike and to buy a small plot of land for home.

It’s a good luck of my family to be given the loan, as per the requested amount of US$3,000! My family used it to buy a motorbike Honda Cub 50 cc and to pay half price of the land belonged to the aunt with whom we stayed. After a long while, we’re able to pay back the loan to Daikou Finance. Then, we applied for the second loan at a bigger amount of US$5,000 to pay for another half price of the land to be able to own it as well as to build a bathroom. We, later on, were able to pay back the loan to Daikou Finance. As recent as in early 2024, we applied for the third loan at a much bigger amount of US$8,000 to buy another motorbike for the kids to go to school and to refurbish our home as well. We’ve succeeded as wished!

She said, “I’m very happy, since to-day we’ve owned our home with proper bathroom and two motorbikes. My husband, I and one girl of my children have jobs. Other kids attend school every day. We have a life goal that’s achieved by the loan from Daikou Finance”. She continued, “we’d like to profoundly thank Daikou Finance that contributes to improving my family’s living conditions as of today. Thanks also go to my loan guarantor Ms. Me Phal and the staff of Daikou Finance. Without their support, my family would not have been better as of today”.
